Our Beliefs at NFBC
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments, and in their absolute sufficiency for all matters regarding faith and practice, and that the Bible alone is the inspired, infallible and completed Word of God.
We believe in the existence of one Living and True God, sustaining the personal relation of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in essence and equal in attributes, each eternally co-existent and fully God.
We believe that God is sovereign over all creation, and that He directs all things in accordance with His eternal, immutable purpose.
We believe in the total and universal depravity of mankind; the atoning efficacy of the death of Jesus Christ; the free justification of believers in Christ by His imputed righteousness; the election and effectual calling of all God’s true people; the final perseverance of the saints; the necessity and efficacy of the Holy Spirit in conversion and sanctification; that Jesus Christ alone is the true Head of the Church;

We Believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust; in the everlasting happiness of the righteous and in the everlasting misery of the wicked; in baptism by immersion in water in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which is the only gospel baptism; in the saints’ participation at the Lord’s table; and that a gospel Church is a body of baptized believers, voluntarily associated to worship God, to heed the instruction of His holy Word, and to exercise their God-given spiritual gifts.
We further believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary; that He was God manifest in human flesh; and that by His active and passive obedience, He achieved eternal salvation for all those who trust in Him; that He did, literally and physically, rise again from the dead in the same body which was crucified; and that He ascended to the Father’s right Hand where, as our faithful and merciful High Priest, He exercises His mediatorial office; and that He will come again a second time to judge the living and the dead.
We further believe that those who, through faith in Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, have been born again, have been made new creatures in Christ, and that these are called and compelled, by both the Word and the Spirit, to live holy and godly lives which please the Lord, putting off the old man, and putting on the new, crucifying the flesh with its affections and lusts, and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, being conformed into His blessed image.
