Five Loaves Two Fishes |
Jesus Christ multiplied a young lad’s lunch in a miraculous manner as recorded in the Book of Matthew. We, as a Church body of caring people, desire also to multiply benevolence through helping folks from all walks of life who require basic food provisions. Our ministry accomplishes this goal of help in three distinct ways; namely, by providing assistance to food banks and group homes. We receive extra food from various resources and deliver the same to different locations, including our own Church, where those in need can access food when necessary. Seasonal deliveries are also made at Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving to families who require aid. Finally, there are occasions when short and long term emergencies arise and assistance is provided on an individual basis. A combination of food items and cards with set funds are used to facilitate all these areas of provision.
Jesus said, ‘Then the King will say to those on His right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance,
the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was in prison and you came to visit Me.’
Then the righteous will answer Him,
‘Lord when did we see You hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give You something to drink?
When did we see You a stranger and invite You in, or needing clothes and clothe You?
When did we see You sick or in prison and go to visit You?’ The King will reply,
‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
Mt. 25:34-40
